Colour is inspiration

It’s all about colour

I wanted to find a way to bring colour into jewellery but I didn’t want to be limited to gemstones. Gemstones are gorgeous and there is no substitute for a beautiful ruby but I wanted to bring colours together, ruby and emerald, to create colour combinations that you just can’t achieve with gemstones. I had a play with enamel but I found it limiting and I also wasn't particularly keen on the finish or not really being able to alter the finish.

Then I found resin.

For the life of me I can’t really remember how I came across resin but I knew I had hit the jackpot. After many disasters, such as the resin not setting, bad colour combinations and the resin just not behaving as I wanted it to, I started to produce colour pieces that I liked.

I love the how resin in its liquid form interacts. How a yellow placed on top of a pink and merge create a lovely warm orange. This is exactly what I wanted to create. Using opaque and transparent colours, gloss and matt finishes my options are endless and creatively I have so many ideas that I will bring to you as soon as I can make them.
